Whole-Person care.
Meet Dr. Keeban Nam
- Telehealth Only -
Hi there! Thank you for stopping by. If there was one thing that we could use more of, after all, is a pause: a moment to consider things, to be open to nuance and context. I am a board-certified psychiatrist of adults, children, and adolescents. I chose a career in psychiatry and mental health because it offered me an opportunity to appreciate nuance and context. The medical model of today’s age has evolved to give much emphasis to checklists and protocols. These are foundational in ensuring standard of care yet may still come at a cost of understanding individual narratives and life complexities. I approach care with a humble spirit, wanting to deeply understand what my clients are experiencing, their unique perspectives and life journeys; I consider myself privileged to grow alongside and help find a meaningful answer or solution to their needs.

Professional Background:
I am a 1.5-generation Korean American male. I have lived in three different countries throughout my life and have spent the majority in California. Through this experience, I have grown to respect cultural diversity. I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychobiology from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a Certificate of Christian Studies from Fuller Theological Seminary, before completing my medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine. I subsequently received both my trainings in general psychiatry residency as well as child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center. Having spent nearly 10 years practicing psychiatry, both in person and via telehealth, what I have grown to value more than anything is my clients’ growth in ownership over their well-being and development. Outside of my client interactions, I enjoy spending quality time traveling with my family, cooking Italian food, and watching tennis. More than anything, I strive to be someone my son will one day aspire to be.
